Thank you Nick for your great service!

We wish Nick all the best for his retirement!

After being shut for several weeks due to the pandemic, we are delighted to finally re-open our West Dorset Mencap charity shop in East Street.  Nick Thornton, one of our longest standing volunteers, celebrated his 60th birthday on 13th August and has also retired from his duties at the shop.  Many of our customers will know Nick who has volunteered for over twenty years and during that time has very rarely missed a day in the shop.  He has always worked alongside our shop managers assisting them in the day to day running of the shop and is so helpful in dealing with the donations, sorting them, and putting on display.  Nicks cheerful character will be so missed and his ability to keep everything running smoothly.  We wish Nick a very happy 60th birthday and all the best in his retirement and thank him so very much for his loyal service.  Our shop will be open Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday from 10am and 2pm and we look forward to welcoming our customers back.  100% of profits generated by our shop sales are used to support people with a learning difficulty who live in our local area.
