Bridport Charter Fair

The Bridport Charter Fair is a celebration of Bridport’s Borough status being granted in 1253, during the reign of King Henry III.  A fun day of charity stalls, bands, dancers, skateboard ramps, food, face painting and various other attractions. Past highlights have included jousting tournaments and historical re-enactments. Bridport Charter Fair is held annually on the first Saturday in July.

West Dorset Mencap and Bothenhampton Knit and Natter had a stall at the recent Charter Fair on Saturday 5th July 2014.  The stall was selling items made by the Knit and Natter group who have so far donated over £1000 to West Dorset Mencap from items sold at local sales.  The Charter Fair was a great success and a further £260 was raised.

Our charity shop in East Street welcomes donations of wool which is passed on to the Knit an Natter group.  West Dorset Mencap would like to thank Bothenhampton Knit and Natter for all of their efforts and continued support of our charity.
